• That you are committed to the idea of parenting a foreign-born child.

• That you are a U.S. Citizen;

  (if married, at least one parent needs to be a citizen, the other can be a permanent resident.)
   

• That each parent must be at least 25 years old and be at least 10 years older than the child.

• That parents pass Federal and State fingerprint clearances.

• That parents pass State Child Abuse Central Index Check.

• That parents have enough income to meet expenses. (But do not need to be wealthy)

• Parents must be a resident of one of the 12 counties in Northern California we serve.

• Alameda
• Contra Costa
• Marin
• Napa
• San Benito
• Santa Clara
• Santa Cruz
• San Francisco
• San Joaquin
• San Mateo
• Sonoma
• Solano

• That parents have a stable family life: Married a minimum of at least one year if married.

• Parents will need four references that they've known for at least 3 years

   (Cannot use each other, parents, or relatives).
   

• Parents must be in good mental and physical health.
