In addition to having the opportunity to connect with our amazing community of adoptive families and
supporters, you will enjoy amazing food from Chef Charlie Ayer of Calafia Cafe ("slow food served fast"), cocktails/refreshments (including wine and champagne) and live music. We are also thrilled to have National Public Radio's Scott Simon as this year's special guest speaker.

Scott Simon is a nationally recognized journalist, radio personality and author. Many people know him as host of "Weekend Edition" on National Public Radio. His Saturday morning program has a loyal following all across the country and his fans tune in every week for his intelligent and heartfelt approach to reporting. Mr. Simon has been a war correspondent, traveled the world and written several books.

While well-known as a radio host and author, Mr. Simon is also recognized by many as an adoptive parent. He and his wife, documentary filmmaker Caroline Richard, adopted two little girls from China. In addition to chronicling his family's adoption experience, Mr. Simon explores other perspectives through interviews with a wide variety of people who have had adoption touch their lives.

This event will take place at the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto. Space is limited
and in the past, Mr. Simon has sold out auditoriums tenfold the size, so this special event
promises a more intimate atmosphere.

The event is produced by Bay Area Adoption Services (BAAS) in Palo Alto, California. Our mission is to find and support loving, able parents for orphaned, abandoned or relinquished children. The child's welfare is our primary concern.
